I grew up playing sports like baseball, soccer and tennis but I never had the motivation to simply work out. Circuit training at gyms and running at Memorial Park never produced any real results for me. I found CrossFit in August 2010 near my office and really enjoyed the idea of everyone working together toward a common goal. Typically I would go 3 days a week, but nutrition was never too important to me. I definitely saw improvident but never had any desire to compete or get involved outside of normal class. My son started Kindergarten in August 2012 which forced me to alter my schedule and I was forced to stop CrossFit near my office.
I stumbled across a sign advertising CrossFit Equality near my house and after my initial visit, I immediately joined. Each and every person associated with CrossFit Equality is outstanding and supportive, especially the owner, Trisha Barnes. For the first time in my life, I crave exercise and proper nutrition. I’ve seen massive gains in both my physical strength and appearance. When I started at CrossFit Equality in January, I was overweight and diagnosed with mild sleep apnea that forced me to use a CPAP machine. Several months later and I’ve dropped over 30 pounds, several notches on my belt, and I no longer need the CPAP machine to sleep. This has motivated me to attend the Level 1 Training and help others experience the incredible power of CrossFit.
