I checked a few places out before joining and once I walked into CFE I felt like this gym could be my place of fitness. The welcomeness I received from staff and members was great!
My first impression of CFE was a little skeptical at first since I was in a routine with my previous CrossFit gym and was used to their teaching style but once I was reassured and understood the coaching I became more comfortable about joining and staying at CFE.
A lot has changed since joining and all for the better. Tougher workouts that force everyone to be pushed and work harder. The thoughts I have after working out aren’t “well I did a workout today”. They are “wow that was a tough workout. I need to do this or that better the next time this movement comes up.”
If I never found CrossFit I wouldn’t have met so many awesome and amazing people that are doing exactly what I’m doing. I would have never attempted to ride and complete the MS150 multiple times without the training and fitness level I have achieved through CrossFit..
My favorite story about CFE is seeing members attempt something new each day and once they finally get that movement or that weight off the ground it’s amazing! The facial expressions and the cheers received is always a great feeling.
When you talk to someone who has never wanted to do a competition and they finally decide to try it, they do well and then you hear they are signing up for the CrossFit Open makes you realize this gym is great.
The first workout I ever did was a base line workout. I turned white because I had never worked out at that level before and my body was in serious shock! However, I stuck with it and can now do so much more!
My proudest accomplishment was seeing my family cheering me on at local competition and saying “wow you did awesome!”
My advice to someone curious about starting CrossFit would be to enjoy each moment and never be down on yourself. You will fail a lot at first but as you progress and learn how to properly do each movement it will become second nature. You will constantly be motivated and pushed into doing new things. CrossFit is forever changing and you will adapt each day.
